Alexander Olafare, the head of partnerships at Travelstart, while declaring the strategic partnership alignment to the media in Lagos emphasised that that technology is taking a leading role in addressing transportation challenges and providing solutions to customers’ pain points.

While emphasising that travel is essential for maintaining family connections and business operations, Olafare noted that Uber’s integration into Travelstart’s offerings will make the company’s customers’ trips to the airport more convenient and comfortable.

Anita Okiri, Uber’s head of partnerships, highlighted Uber’s commitment to safety in transportation. She said, “Through the partnership, Uber will provide discounts for rides to and from the airport for customers who book their flights through Travelstart. Conversely, Travelstart will offer discounted price tickets to Uber customers, as well as promotional free round-trip tickets to London for two Uber customers as well as free domestic flight tickets for three users”.

According to the mechanics highlighted, special incredible offers on Travelstart flights will be accessible directly through the Uber app. There will also be a contest to select the top three Uber riders between November 30th and mid-December to qualify for the free tickets.

Other highlights of the series of incentives by Travelstart according to Bukky Akomolafe, the country manager for Travelstart, is that customers booking any flights leaving Nigeria from November 6th to November 30th on the Travelstart.com.ng portal will be given free Uber vouchers for their airport transfers.

A competition on the Uber app is set to identify the top three riders from November 30th to mid-December,

Travelstart and Uber are not new to co-branding their services especially for mutual seasonal consumers’ promotions as Akomolafe revealed that this collaboration is not the first but the third of its kind between these companies.

This collaboration marks the third instance of Travelstart partnering with Uber after the COVID-19 outbreak.
