Bermuda moves to upgrade its membership in CARICOM

Bermuda is considering becoming a full-fledged member of CARICOM and has initiated a consultation process.

Governor Rena Lalgie made the disclosure during the delivery of the government’s Throne Speech over the weekend. 

She says the move will strengthen the historic, familial, and cultural ties to the Caribbean.

Bermuda became a CARICOM associate member on July 3, 2003.
