Ntseki sends hearty message to Chiefs fans ahead of MTN8 clash

Ntseki sends hearty message to Chiefs fans ahead of MTN8 clash

Amid the tough times in the hot seat at Naturena, Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has sent a heartfelt message pleading with Amakhosi supporters to be patient with him.

This after Amakhosi succumbed to a disappointing defeat to SuperSport United in the DStv Premiership clash at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday night.

The loss was followed by violent scenes from disgruntled Amakhosi supporters, who hurled objects at Ntseki, forcing him to be escorted down the tunnel by security and police.

Ntseki expressed disappointment at the way fans behaved, and pleaded for patience ahead of their MTN8 semifinal second leg against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

“We must first agree that the behaviour that we have been seeing from our fans has been emotional, maybe we can direct our emotions differently,” Ntseki told a media briefing at the Premier Soccer League headquarters in Parktown on Thursday.

“I think Kaizer Chiefs, being the brand it is, the management is disappointed to see such things happening with such a beautiful brand.

“We are asking for patience. At times when you ask for patience from someone who is not patient, you must find solutions to make them patient.

“What the club is saying is that, as impatient as you are, we are bringing in quality. Just be patient with the quality we have brought in.”

Ntseki said his team is looking forward to the crucial clash against Sundowns, noting that Amakhosi will go all out to reach the final at the expense of Rulani Mokwena’s side.

Sundowns have an away-goal advantage after playing to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at the FNB Stadium early in September.

The two sides will cross swords at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. Kick-off is at 3pm.
