by Michigan, Ohio radio hosts broadcast charms of Windsor/Essex County
The hosts of five U.S. radio shows were broadcasting live from Windsor on Thursday, putting a spotlight on the region as a tourist destination to their listeners across Michigan and Ohio.
Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island hosted the Caesars Windsor event in partnership with Destination Ontario.

“The high value of reaching potential visitors in key markets in Ohio and Michigan during peak listening times will help reinforce the proximity of Windsor as a road trip destination, the affordability of the visit, and the ease with which their audience can visit,” Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island said in a media release.

The shows that broadcasted live from Caesars Windsor included Blaine and Lauren from WDVD 96.3 FM Detroit, and W4 Mornings with Goose, Madison Rally and Brian Welch on W4 Country 102.9 FM Ann Arbor.
There were also three shows from Toledo, including The Denny Schaffer Show with Denny, Suzie Moser & Paul Spoerl on 93.5 WRQN; Pyke in the Morning on 94.5 XKR; and Lyn from the K100 Morning Show on K100 99.9 FM.
The hosts toured the region on Wednesday before taking to the airwaves on Thursday in simultaneous live broadcasts from the casino between 5:30 and 10 a.m.
Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island said the broadcasts were part of an effort that also includes a digital campaign directing traffic to visitwindsoressex.com.
The organization said Thursday the campaign has so far delivered more than 500,000 page views through the heavy tourism season.
