Logistics centers masterplan to boost infrastructure: Al-Jasser

Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh Al-Jasser

Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Saleh Al-Jasser, said that the launch of the logistics centers masterplan in the Kingdom will provide strong support for the transportation system and logistics services, contribute to the development of infrastructure, and facilitate measures for investors in the logistics sector.

In addition, it will strengthen the linkage between Saudi Arabia and global markets by leveraging the Kingdom’s strategic location in the middle of three continents, he added, according to the Saud Press Agency.

Al-Jasser went on to say that the masterplan will act as a pull factor to enable local industries and promote Saudi exports with high efficiency, while also supporting the economics and services of e-commerce to facilitate the link between logistics and distribution centers within the Kingdom’s regions, cities, and governorates.

Al-Jasser also touted the broad structural reforms and qualitative strategic initiatives achieved since the launch of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which made a significant shift in the operational efficiency of the transport and logistics sectors.

Since the launch of the strategy in mid-2021, the transportation system has implemented several initiatives, including the launch of the unified Logistics License that was awarded to more than 1,500 local and international companies.

This is in addition to the launch of the “LOGISTI” platform, reducing the clearance period to two hours, the launch of the integrated logistics zone in Riyadh and announcing Apple as the first international investor in it, as well as launching 19 logistics zones, Al-Jasser added.
