Karan slams those trolling Ranveer-Deepika

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh graced the debut episode on Karan Johar‘s chat show Koffee With Karan season 8. The duo spilled the beans on their love life and marriage.

However, soon Deepika was subjected to trolling on social media, because of her comments on her relationship with Ranveer. “I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said ‘I just don’t want to be attached, don’t want to be committed’.

And I had fun! And then he comes along, so I didn’t commit, until he proposed to me. There was no ‘commitment as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other,” Deepika had stated and

netizens

were quick to tag her statement as ‘open relationship’.

Addressing the hate, Karan Johar said in a recent live session, “Do what you need to do because no one’s looking. Trolling gets you nowhere. You are landing nowhere.” The filmmaker also reportedly spoke about the new imposter game which was introduced in the first episode of Koffee with Karan 8. Taking in feedback for the same, he stated that the game will be dropped from the upcoming episodes.

Vir Das had also defended Deepika and tweeted, “Moment of silence for all the men who are upset that a Bollywood star way out of their league was casually dating for a while, and wasn’t as committed as their imaginary girlfriend is to them.”
