Here’s why you lose every argument in your relationship

Besides being bound by love and affection, relationships also comprise of disagreements and petty arguments.

Being in love and in a romantic relationship, does not mean that it’ll be all hearts and roses. Differences of opinion will occur, not matter how hard you try to avoid it.

The reasons may differ from person to person, but one thing that unanimously bothers us the most is when our partners always manage to win the argument every single time.

While arguments and conflicting ideas strengthen the bond between two people, witnessing your partner win every time can make you doubt yourself and question your own abilities.

Therefore, to help you understand better, here are some reasons why you lose every argument against your partner.

You just want to win

Every time you engage in an argument with your partner, are you always in a fit to win? Do you always want to prove your partner wrong? Then, my dear friend, you’re on the wrong track. In a relationship, winning and losing should be the last thing on your mind. If you’re facing a relationship problem, you should try and solve it together, rather than searching for ways to downgrade your partner. That’s where your partner has it right.

You’re stubborn and don’t want to compromise

The key to solving any relationship problem is by looking for a middle-ground. If you continue to be stubborn and unwilling to compromise, you’ll always feel like a loser. It is crucial that you prioritize your relationship more than a petty argument and push your ego aside. Win or lose, your relationship is what matters in the end.

You are overpowered by your emotions

Sometimes, when you’re arguing with your partner, you are overpowered by your emotions and lose control of your reasoning abilities. You say and do things that make you regret later on, which gives your partner the upper hand in a relationship. The best way to tackle such a situation is to keep your cool and stay calm at all times. Don’t let your emotions get the better of you.

You let their mistakes slide

Arguments are all about proving a point. Sometimes, it just so happens that your partner does not step back from pointing fingers at you. However, you choose to take the higher ground and let their mistakes slide by. Although it is always better to keep your calm and not intensify the problems, you can always choose to give them a taste of their own medicine, if and when it goes overboard.

You plead guilty for everything

Apologizing is always a sign of a humility, but saying sorry for mistakes you did not commit is just a sign of insecurity. If you think you’re avoiding conflicts by taking all the blame on yourself, even when you aren’t guilty of anything, then you’re not. Admit it when you are wrong, but don’t suppress your feelings to make someone else feel better about themselves.
