Fuel Price Hike : LASG Extends Palliative Distribution To Driving School Operators

Lagos State Drivers’ Institute, on behalf LASG extends palliative distribution to driving school operators.

Earlier this year, LASDRI said it has trained and re-certified over 500,000 professional drivers in the last 14 years of its existence.

The Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI), on behalf of the Lagos State Government, has distributed food palliatives to members of the Coalition of Driving Schools in Lagos State.

According to the agency, the gesture by the State Government will cushion the effects of economic hardship being experienced by Lagos residents as a result of fuel subsidy removal.

At the handing over of palliative items to the Association, LASDRI General Manager, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu stated that the development is a pointer to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s passion for the welfare of Lagosians.

LASDRI General Manager advised the Driving School Operators to see the State Government’s gesture as a commitment to ensuring safety on Lagos roads.

Responding, the State Chairman of the Association, Mr. Bolaji Abayomi thanked the State Government for remembering them at this critical time. He reiterated the group’s readiness to support the Government’s policies aimed at improving the transportation sector in the State.

Earlier this year, the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) said that the State-owned drivers training institute has trained and re-certified over 500,000 professional drivers in the last 14 years of its existence.

While speaking on Drivers’ orientation and training, Tiamiyu revealed that first-line drivers who did not acquire required driving skills from accredited driving schools in Lagos State risk their lives and that of their passengers as well as the society at large.
