Ashley Gorley-imprint Tape Room Music partners with Red Light Ventures and Firebird Music, with the latter entities purchasing over 350 Tape Room tracks.

Tape Room Music, a publishing enterprise launched by songwriter Ashley Gorley (pictured), has announced a strategic partnership with Red Light Ventures and Firebird Music, selling 350 songs to the two entities from various Tape Room Publishing catalogs as part of the deal.

The sale includes country hits like Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road,” Billy Currington’s “Do I Make You Wanna,” Luke Bryan’s “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset,” Lee Brice’s “One of Them Girls,” Dustin Lynch’s “Thinking ‘Bout You,” and many more.

“We are excited to partner with Ashley and the world-class team at Tape Room,” says Coran Capshaw (pictured), Founder of Red Light Ventures.

Tape Room President Blain Rhodes added, “We are thrilled to be partnering with two of the most successful, forward-thinking companies in our industry.”

Since its inception, the Nashville-based Tape Room has celebrated nearly 40 No. 1 radio hits with three Grammy nominations, three CMA Song of the Year nominations, and many ASCAP and BMI nods.

Most recently, “Buy Dirt” won the 2022 CMA Song of the Year award, and Zach Crowell, Hunter Phelps, and Ben Johnson received CMA Triple Play awards — a coveted honor awarded to songwriters for penning three No. 1 country songs in twelve months.

Red Light Ventures and Firebird Music will continue their work with Tape Room to build on the publisher’s success, combining Tape Room’s songwriting talent with Red Light and Firebird’s business development acumen. The deal follows Firebird’s acquisition of a stake in Tape Room and investments in several other music-related companies like Latin-focused Ntertain.

Tape Room was represented in the deal by Loeb & Loeb LLC, with Loeb attorneys Derek Crownover, John Rolfe, Megan Pekar, and Willie Jones overseeing the transaction. Elliot Groffman of Carroll Guido Groffman Cohen Bar & Karalian, LLP represented Red Light and Firebird.
